My buddy Dan over at EdgeCustom dot com has just put up some new information on the Ultra-Stealth Handgun Hunting Holster.

When you get to the main website, just click on the Blog tab and see the photos and videos that Dan has put up.  They make the whole device a little easier to understand.

As I have written about before, I own one of these beauties and I can’t figure out how I ever went hunting without one before.

Kansas Attorney General’s Office has issued 15,000 concealed carry permits

Aug 25 2008 No Comments »

Normally Ol’ Squeeze here is going to be telling you about hunting situations, but as you can tell by this website’s sections I am very interested in and a supporter of the Second Ammendment Foundation (SAF) and the National Rifle Association (NRA.)

This news story came across my computer this morning and I just wanted to share it with you.

When the debate over the carrying of concealed weapons raged in Kansas, critics warned that violence would ensue and that more children would die in accidental shootings because of ready access to handguns carried by a parent.

According to state authorities, neither has happened.

Since January 2007, more than 15,000 Kansans have become concealed carry permit holders, and, according to the Attorney General’s Office, not a single one has committed a crime using a handgun.

“I’m not aware of any incidents in which a concealed carry permit holder used a handgun in the commission of a crime,” said Chuck Sexson, director of the Attorney General’s Concealed Carry Unit.

The article was first called to my attention here:

Just goes to show, good people, obeying the laws and having every right to carry a handgun.

Best Handgun for Hunting

Aug 25 2008 No Comments »

Whenever you get in a group of more than one person with a handgun, the talk will eventually turn to a discussion of, What is the Best Handgun for Hunting ?

Well that’s easy, it’s the Smith and Wesson Model 29, and the Colt Python, and the Ruger Redhawk, and and the Ruger Blackhawk, and (insert favorite handgun here.)

It’s like Ford and Chevy. Your favorite is the one that you own most likely. Ol’ Squeeze has owned all of the above (and maybe one or two more even,) and now that he squints a little more than he used to has settled on the Smith and Wesson Model 29 in .44 Magnum.

To me it has always been a top performer. I like the double-action pull for some reason, though I don’t think I have ever used the straight trigger pull from the get go. It just seems natural to cock that baby back when ready. So there is no reason at all to have a double, it has just become a habit and personal choice. There are a ton of very nice single-action revolvers out there and I am not putting any of them down, no sir.

Here’s what it boils down to in the discussion of Best Handgun. A revolver, hands down winner. Now don’t get me wrong I own several 1911 .45 ACPs and love each and every one of them, but for hunting, the best handgun is a revolver.

Revolvers are relatively simple, rugged, fewer tricky moving parts, and they work good in all elements of weather or mud. Semi-autos can be a little temperamental at times. A well cared for semi-auto can be dependable also, but if you haven’t cleaned it in a coons age or it has dried out, or gotten full of mud and grit, it just might go “click.” I’ve had it happen and unless that ol’ buck is within wrasslin’ range, he’s gone.

So those are the thoughts of an old timer. What do you think?

Leave your comments on what you think is the Best Handgun.

Welcome fellow hunting enthusiasts.

In case you haven’t guessed yet, we’re pretty new to the Internet.

They call me Squeeze and you can take that any way you want, but it is meant to be as in “the trigger.”

Ol’ Squeeze is not new to gunning, that’s for sure.  Been shotgun, rifle, handgun and bow hunting for over 40 years.  Dad and his cronies used to haul me along in the woods long before I could carry anything bigger than a rattle.  I always thought that I was hot stuff, but in later years discovered that they really wanted to have me walk though the cedar swamps.

Throughout all of life’s accomplishments and defeats, no matter what, all of those situations are forgotten once you are in the woods or afield.  Hunting is just about the very best remedy for what ails ya that I can think of.

My favorite is whitetail hunting and where we are located in the heart of Upstate New York is God’s Deer Country, there is no doubt.  Our property is about a quarter mile up a hill that I like to call Walton’s Mountain and all we see is woods, hills and open sky.  We are surrounded by several miles of State Forest land and I don’t ever want to leave.

We would like to hear from readers.  This website will be as inter-active as you would like.  Please consider posting comments about some of your favorite hunts, your equipment, your likes and dislikes, just about anything you want.

This is a family site and we do moderate the comments, but unless you are blatantly insulting or a stupid idiot, your comments will most likely get posted and responded to.

Thanks for visiting HuntingWith.com and do come back.  We should have lots of new things to read on your return.

We also encourage anyone to guest post any good articles that you are the author of and want to share with our readers.

My contact information is on the Privacy Policy page.  We don’t post it all over in the actual email format, but you will be able to figure it out, much better that the computer spamming robots will.  We hope.
